This advanced exfoliation duo helps reveal smoother, brighter skin while minimizing the appearance of fine lines, dryness, hyperpigmentation, and mild acne scarring. Ideal for clients seeking a refined, radiant complexion, this course is designed to elevate your treatment results and client satisfaction.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

The Dermaplaning & Liquid Enzyme Exfoliation – Hybrid Course is a blended online and in-person certification program that offers a comprehensive study of the theory, science, and practical application of dermaplaning and liquid enzyme exfoliation. Students will gain in-depth knowledge through extensive online video lessons and training materials, followed by a scheduled in-person hands-on practice session to build real treatment room confidence. Upon completion of the required course hours, each student will be awarded a Professional Dermaplaning & Liquid Enzyme Exfoliation Specialist certificate from Texas Laser Institute, LLC.

This Course Includes:

  1. Online video lectures instructed by industry leading instructors.

  2. In-person, hands-on training and practical hands-on application.

  3. All course materials in PDF format, model forms, documents and agreements.

  4. Chapter skills assessments to check understanding of key course concepts.

  5. A Professional Dermaplaning & Liquid Enzyme Exfoliation Specialist certificate of completion from the Texas Laser Institute will be awarded to each individual.

Objectives:

  1. Explain the structure and function of the skin.
  2. Identify the five layers of the epidermis and their relevance to exfoliation.
  3. Differentiate between vellus and terminal hair.
  4. Describe the hair growth cycle and hormonal influences on facial hair.
  5. Address common myths about hair removal and regrowth.
  6. Define dermaplaning as a mechanical exfoliation technique.
  7. Explain the benefits of dermaplaning.
  8. Compare dermaplaning to other exfoliation methods, including:
    • Mechanical exfoliation (e.g., scrubs, microdermabrasion)
    • Chemical exfoliation (e.g., AHAs, BHAs, enzyme peels)
    • Enzyme exfoliation using papain (from papaya) and bromelain (from pineapple), which gently dissolve keratin proteins without mechanical friction—ideal for sensitive or compromised skin types.
  9. Demonstrate proper safety protocols and treatment setup.
  10. Perform a client consultation, skin preparation, dermaplaning technique, safety precautions, and sanitation.
  11. Recognize indications and contraindications for dermaplaning, including conditions that require caution or alternative treatment options.
  12. Provide pre- and post-treatment care instructions and recommend treatment frequency to maintain optimal results.
  13. Combine dermaplaning with complementary treatments, such as enzyme masks, chemical peels, LED therapy, or hydrating facials, to enhance outcomes.
  14. Identify potential complications and strategies for troubleshooting.

  1. The minimum age for admissions is at least 18 years of age at the date of application.

  2. Students must have attained a high school diploma, GED or equivalent.

  3. Proficiency in English reading & writing.

Important Information: 
You must complete the online course material prior to your scheduled hands-on class. A certificate of completion will be distributed on your hands-on training day.

Tuition Fee & Enrollment:

Tuition fee for the Dermaplaning & Liquid Enzyme Exfoliation Specialist $349.
